The Korea Creative Content Agency, an affiliate of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has secured a resolution from the Los Angeles (LA) City Council recognizing 2026 K-EXPO USA: All about K-style as an official city event.

Set to take place in LA in May, this expo will serve as a launchpad for K-content's expansion into North America, featuring a mix of performances, exhibitions, interactive experiences, and business consultations.

The resolution ceremony was held on May 8 at the LA City Hall's main assembly chamber. During a live-streamed session, the city council officially added the event to the city's calendar and committed to providing administrative support and cooperation throughout the preparation process.

LA City Council member John Lee and Steve Kang, chair of the Los Angeles Public Works Commission, co-hosted the event. Also in attendance were Kim Young-wan, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles, Lee Hae-don, director of the Korean Cultural Center in LA, Kim Han-soo, president of the California Korean Business Association, and Adam Burke, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the LA Tourism Board.

This recognition is particularly significant as it elevates K-content to a city-level cultural and industrial cooperation agenda. It follows in the footsteps of other Korean cultural milestones in the city, such as the Netflix hit <em>Squid Game</em> production team receiving a similar certificate, and soccer star Son Heung-min being granted honorary citizenship by LA.

The event is designed to showcase a wide range of Korean industries. Beyond featuring content like dramas, animation, games, and webtoons, it will also spotlight consumer goods such as food and cosmetics. This approach aims to transform public interest into tangible consumption and market growth.

Mark your calendars for May 23-27, 2026. Organizers anticipate participation from over 130 content companies and more than 150 international buyers, promising a vibrant celebration of Korean culture and commerce.
