This marks a significant improvement from last September's announcement of a 1,971 kN thrust engine for the Hwasong-20 missile, representing a 40% increase over its predecessor. The unveiling of this enhanced engine strongly suggests its intended use in intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) capable of striking the U.S. mainland.
