China and Russia have sent congratulatory messages to North Korea's 9th Party Congress, reaffirming their strategic alliances with the hermit kingdom.

On Friday, North Korea's ruling party newspaper, <em>Rodong Sinmun</em>, reported that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China had sent a congratulatory letter for the 9th Party Congress. The letter stated that on behalf of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people, it extends its warmest congratulations on the successful convening of the 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea. It further expressed that it wishes the Korean people greater achievements in socialist construction under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

The Chinese side also emphasized that China-North Korea relations have entered a new historical phase in recent years, guided by the strategic leadership of both countries' top officials. They expressed willingness to deepen exchanges on party and state management experiences to jointly foster healthy and stable development of China-North Korea relations.
