The Workers' Party's official newspaper, <em>Rodong Sinmun</em>, reported on its front pages on Tuesday that groundbreaking ceremonies were held on Monday in Hwapyeong, Pyeonggang, Riwon, Myonggan, and Samsu counties. The newspaper stated that during these events, soldiers and construction workers committed to completing the projects to the highest standards, vowing to make this year shine as one of local revolution.

Page 3 announced the opening of the 11th National Sketch Festival commemorating Kim Jong Il's birthday (February 16). According to the report, youth and children from across the nation submitted over 390 works depicting Kim's revolutionary life and achievements.

The newspaper particularly emphasized the need for party officials in various regions to focus their efforts on political propaganda and economic mobilization activities.
