The Workers' Party newspaper <em>Rodong Sinmun </em>reported on Tuesday that a firing drill competition involving tactical artillery units under the combined formations of the Korean People's Army took place on Monday.

The newspaper stated that the purpose of the competition was to rigorously evaluate the proficiency of tactical artillery units in fire support combat operations and to disseminate best practices from exemplary units throughout the military. Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Pak Jong-chon, observed the training alongside Chief of General Staff Ri Yong-gil.
