North Korea has intensified its hostility towards the United States as Victory Day (July 27, the anniversary of the armistice agreement) approaches.

The Workers' Party's official newspaper, <em>Rodong Sinmun</em>, published a front-page article on Thursday titled "The Victory Tradition of July 27 is the Cornerstone of Our Republic's Strength." The article claimed that the North Korean people possess a victorious tradition that has driven the world's most powerful imperialist force, the United States, to the brink of collapse, inflicting only defeat upon it.

The newspaper asserted that the North Korean people can embody revolutionary strategic optimism, ensuring victory and a bright future despite any hardships, thanks to the wise leadership of their great leader. It also encouraged loyalty to General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

On the same page, the newspaper reported that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit North Korea from July 11 to 13.
