North Korea celebrated International Children's Day on June 1, touting the love for posterity of Kim Jong Un.

The Workers' Party newspaper <em>Rodong Sinmun</em> reported on its front page, under the headline, The Laughter of Children Brightens the Whole Country, that children across the nation received first harvest tomatoes, various fish, and fruit-flavored gum, described as filled with the affection of the respected General Secretary. North Korea observes International Children's Day, established by the International Democratic Women's Federation in Moscow in September 1949, as its Children's Day.

On page 3, the publication touted the country's childcare and education system, claiming that in North Korea, childcare and education are entirely the responsibility of the state and society. Further, noting that substantial national and social benefits are applied equally, regardless of parents' occupations or the quantity and quality of their labor.

Page 2 reported on a ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of the Sports Research Institute's founding, held at Kim Il Sung Stadium on May 31. The speaker highlighted scientific research projects aimed at developing new training methods tailored to athletes' physical characteristics. An article titled "Methods of Struggle to Implement Self-Reliance First" emphasized that subjective capabilities are the direct agents of socialist and communist construction.

Page 4 highlighted efforts across all grain management sectors to localize equipment production. Workers are reportedly demonstrating creativity and innovation by thoroughly understanding operational principles when crafting parts, ensuring that design requirements are met.

On the same page, it also reported that a North Korean youth delegation participated in the 21st World Federation of Democratic Youth conference in Namibia, returning home on May 31. Kim Sung Il, deputy chairman of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League Central Committee, emphasized in his speech that North Korean youth will fulfill their international duties by standing at the forefront of the struggle to defend socialism and fight against imperialism, safeguarding peace and stability in the region. The report also noted North Korea's re-election to the federation's leadership.
