Mark, a former member of the K-pop group NCT, is set to make a comeback after a two-month hiatus with his new single "Happiest," further establishing his path as a singer-songwriter.

The track is scheduled to drop on various digital music platforms at 2:00 p.m. (KST) on Friday. This release comes on the heels of his digital single "My Friend," which hit the airwaves on September 10.

"Happiest" is described as an alternative pop rhythm and blues (R&B) song that takes a fresh look at our conventional notions of happiness. Mark reportedly infuses the track with his unique perspective, exploring the most authentic form of joy found in the depths of one's heart, rather than adhering to society's definition of happiness.

The artist has been engaging with fans on social media, posing the thought-provoking question, What makes you happy? This interaction has piqued interest in the personal interpretation of happiness Mark will unveil through his latest musical offering.

Since his debut with NCT in 2016 and subsequent departure from the group in April, Mark has been carving out his solo career with determination.

In his first solo venture, "My Friend," Mark offered solace to those grappling with the concept of true love, showcasing his prowess as both a lyricist and composer. The track highlighted his evolution as an artist, revealing a distinct style that set him apart from his previous group persona and resonated strongly with his fanbase.

With "Happiest," Mark aims to cement his reputation as a singer-songwriter. By shifting his focus from love to happiness, he promises to unveil yet another facet of his musical artistry.

A preview of "Happiest," released on Monday, features Mark moving freely to the rhythm, eschewing choreographed dance moves. This unrestrained expression of joy has already captured the attention of viewers.

As Mark transitions from exploring love to delving into the concept of happiness, fans are eagerly anticipating this more liberated comeback. The industry is abuzz with speculation about how this new single will further propel Mark's solo career.
