Girl group IVE is riding a wave of success with their latest hit "Looks Can Kill."

The K-pop sensations dropped their fifth mini-album Looks Can Kill on Monday, marking another chapter in their Another Ego series. Following the success of Cupid and Magic Girl, this release introduces the concept of Girl Hero, further expanding IVE's unique universe and narrative. The album continues to explore the group's signature theme of self-confidence, but with a fresh twist.

IVE kicked off their comeback on October 19 with the release of the title track "Looks Can Kill." The song's choreography, particularly the Sniper Dance, has become a viral sensation, sparking a dance challenge that's taken the internet by storm. A-list celebrities and fellow K-pop idols, including actor Lee Sang Yi, rapper Lee Young Ji, and groups like NCT Dream and Cravity, have jumped on the bandwagon, further fueling the trend. Fans are also getting creative with the IVEAM challenge and vocal covers, putting their own spin on the catchy chorus.

An Yu Jin's lightning-fast dance moves have become a talking point, drawing comparisons to the superhero Quicksilver from the X-Men franchise. Her rapid transitions create a mesmerizing visual effect that's set social media ablaze. Meanwhile, a playful meme inspired by the lyrics "It must be us" and the adorably dubbed "Kkungsit Kkungsit Part" of the choreography have become internet favorites, spreading like wildfire across fan communities.

The buzz is translating into chart success. "Looks Can Kill" made its Melon daily chart debut at No. 63 on release day, steadily climbing the ranks after the group's electrifying music show performances. By Monday, it had cracked the top 10 at No. 7, and continued its ascent to No. 6 the following day, showcasing IVE's staying power. The official "Looks Can Kill" challenge video has become a viral phenomenon, amassing over 100 million views across social media platforms.

IVE continues to raise the bar with each comeback, delivering show-stopping performances that highlight their individual charms and collective prowess. Their latest offering features an irresistible point dance, polished choreography, and stage presence that lets each member shine. The widespread participation in online challenges and meme culture surrounding the song has organically boosted its popularity, contributing to its impressive chart performance.

As IVE continues to evolve, striking a balance between fresh concepts and their signature style, all eyes are on "Looks Can Kill" to see if it will etch another milestone in the group's already impressive career.
