Halloween hasn't even passed yet, but U.S. online retailers are already seeing a spike in Christmas gift searches. Savvy shoppers are getting a head start, browsing for the perfect presents and adding their faves to wish lists before hitting that add to cart button.

K-beauty, the darling of the American beauty scene, is making waves as a top contender for holiday gifting. With Black Friday (November 27) and the festive season just around the corner, industry experts are feeling optimistic about fourth-quarter exports.

Market Defense, a U.S. e-commerce analytics firm, reports that during Amazon's early October sale, beauty products were the most-clicked category for shoppers searching gifts and Christmas gifts. Cosmetics outshined toys and household items, even dominating searches for stocking stuffers – those cute little presents that make Christmas morning extra special.

The beauty buzz is real: Amazon saw beauty-related gift search terms skyrocket from a mere 14 in June to a whopping 121 this month. While we're not in full holiday shopping mode yet, it's clear that beauty enthusiasts are already plotting their gift-giving strategies.

This trend highlights K-beauty's glow-up in the American market. Once known for quirky ingredients and innovative formulas that piqued curiosity, Korean skincare has now become a staple in American bathrooms. Consumer research firm Numerator reports that one in four U.S. households now indulges in K-beauty products – talk about a skincare revolution!

It's especially thrilling to see K-beauty making its mark in the Christmas gift market. Choosing a gift requires next-level consideration – you've got to nail the recipient's taste, pick a recognizable brand, and find the perfect product mix. The fact that Korean cosmetics are now gift list-worthy shows just how far they've come in winning American hearts (and faces).

From sheet masks to at-home beauty gadgets, K-beauty is serving up a smorgasbord of gift options this holiday season. We're not just talking fancy perfumes and makeup – think curated sets of travel-sized skincare goodies, indulgent sheet masks for spa nights at home, and even pore-perfecting pads for that friend who's always chasing flawless skin.

One standout is APR Mediheal's PDRN Glow Essential Starter Kit. This little treasure trove packs serum, cleansing foam, and toner in adorable mini sizes, perfect for trying out a whole new routine. It even made ABC's coveted year-end beauty gift guide in the under-25 USD category, rubbing shoulders with luxury picks like Chanel perfume sets.

Mediheal is also crushing it on wish lists. The online gifting platform Giftlist reports that their PDRN Pink Collagen Jelly Gel Mask and Zero Pore Pad 2.0 are rapidly climbing the ranks of most-wanted presents. The jelly gel mask, in particular, saw a jaw-dropping 91% increase in saves compared to last month.

What's cool about these products is that they're not just holiday one-hit wonders. These are the everyday skincare heroes people actually use and love. It's a testament to how K-beauty has gone from niche to necessary in American skincare routines.

K-beauty is also stealing the spotlight in major U.S. holiday beauty events. Amazon's festive beauty bonanza features Dalba Global's First Spray Serum and Mediheal's Mini Booster Pro Plus Cleansing Device Set as top deals. Amorepacific's Laneige is getting in on the action too, with their Hydration Heroes Set marketed as the perfect pampering gift.

All this hype is translating into serious business. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups reports that cosmetic exports hit a record-breaking 2.79 billion USD in Q3 2026 – that's a 28.6% jump from last year! The January-September total soared to 7.65 billion USD, up 26.4% and smashing records for both quarterly and year-to-date figures. North America is particularly thirsty for K-beauty, with exports surging 33.1% to 690 million USD.

An industry insider spilled the tea: K-beauty used to be the quirky newcomer in the U.S., turning heads with wild ingredients and textures. Now? It's the go-to skincare that Americans reach for daily. It's confident this newfound status will give it a major boost in the holiday gift market.
