On Thursday, CGBio, a leading global regenerative medicine company, announced its participation in the North American Spine Society Annual Meeting (NASS 2026) in San Antonio, Texas. The company showcased an array of products, including its innovative three-dimensional (3D)-printed spinal cages, spinal implants, bone grafts, and cutting-edge endoscopic surgical equipment.

NASS 2026 was held from October 14 to 17 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. CGBio operated an exhibition booth from October 14 to 16, marking its fifth consecutive year of participation since 2022.

The highlight of CGBio's exhibition was the 3D-printed spinal cages developed and manufactured by its subsidiary, CG MedTech. These cages are crucial in spinal fusion surgery, where the required shape and angle vary depending on the surgical approach - anterior, posterior, or lateral. CGBio presented a comprehensive product lineup and design options tailored to these diverse surgical needs.

Spinal cages are sophisticated medical devices inserted into the space left after removing a damaged intervertebral disc. They serve to maintain the distance between vertebrae and promote bone fusion. These devices are primarily used in fusion surgeries to ensure spinal stability, often in cases of degenerative spinal diseases.

Key products on display included the Unispace TPLIF, Unispace OLIF, the Unispace Standalone C Cage for cervical surgery, and the Verteon. CGBio also demonstrated its advanced capabilities in designing and manufacturing customized cages that cater to individual patient anatomies, as well as its innovative technology for creating porous structures using 3D printing.

In the spinal implant category, CGBio showcased a range of products including Inovus, Inovus MIS, Unifuse SI screws, Colonnade, and Exsender.

The bone graft section featured a variety of options including allografts, synthetic bones, demineralized bone matrix (DBM), and products based on recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2). Notable offerings in this category were Alomix, BoneFuse, BoneGener, BoneGross, and Novosys.

In the rapidly evolving field of endoscopic and robotic surgery, CGBio exhibited the Multi-Focus system for spinal endoscopic procedures, the Curexo spinal surgical robot Qubis-Spine, and a state-of-the-art 4K imaging device from its subsidiary Solendos. The company also outlined its vision for integrating advanced imaging guidance technology with endoscopic equipment.

The exhibition garnered significant interest from U.S. spine specialists, particularly in the spinal endoscopic platform and expandable cages. CGBio plans to leverage these interactions, continuing discussions with local medical professionals and potential distribution partners. The company aims to incorporate the insights gained from these interactions into its product development process and tailor its market entry strategies for different countries.

Yoon Hyun-seung, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CGBio, emphasized the importance of understanding the interplay between implants, bone grafts, and surgical equipment in real-world clinical settings. He stated that leveraging CG MedTech's design and manufacturing expertise alongside CGBio's advanced regenerative medicine technology, it's committed to refining the product offerings to meet the precise needs of medical professionals. The goal is to establish a robust supply chain that aligns with regulatory requirements and distribution landscapes across various markets.
