LG Innotek recently held its overseas talent recruitment event, Inno Connect, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, the company announced on Tuesday.

The event attracted over 30 doctoral candidates and experienced professionals from 14 leading U.S. universities, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of California, Berkeley, Georgia Institute of Technology, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Inno Connect is a recruitment-linked event where LG Innotek invites talented individuals from prestigious American universities to showcase the company's vision and technological leadership.

First launched in San Francisco last year, this marks the second Inno Connect event. Key executives overseeing LG Innotek's research and development (R&D), including Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Noh Seung-won, were in attendance.

The primary research areas of the participating talents align with LG Innotek's future growth engines, such as autonomous driving, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics.

During the event, LG Innotek researchers presented next-generation technology trends and development progress, including AI optical imaging systems and sensing technologies for future vehicles and robots. The agenda also included sessions where executives and attendees discussed the company's long-term strategy, technology roadmap, and talent development policies.

CTO Noh, who attended the event, stated that LG Innotek has cultivated a research environment and training system that enables world-class talent to excel in various fields, drawing on its global business experience as a key partner to top-tier customers worldwide. Further, it invites people to pursue their ambitions at LG Innotek, where they continuously deliver unique customer value to help realize the clients' visions.

With 95% of LG Innotek's total revenue generated overseas this year, the company is intensifying its efforts to attract international talent through various initiatives and programs.

LG Innotek runs an annual Global Internship program for international and Korean students from universities worldwide. High-performing interns have the opportunity to transition into full-time roles.

Furthermore, LG Innotek's Vietnam subsidiary has established partnerships with local institutions such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. These collaborations involve recruitment-linked programs, including specialized academic departments, internships, and career guidance. Next month, the company plans to host OpTechCon, a technical conference for optical field experts, in Vietnam.
